So, what's the final? What is everyone ordering. I spoke with Weigh Safe and they said most 2017 Ford guys were ordering the 8". I think that is sufficient on a stock height truck. Anyone thinking differently?

 

I still don't have a truck to measure (dealer swears it'll be here tomorrow) but top of ball height (2 5/16") on my 2012 is 21.5" off the shop floor and that tows my 3 most used trailers at level. The Waverunner trailer ball height (2") needs to be almost 1.5" lower.

 

My problem is I've seen two different guys post measurements that weren't in line with each other.

This seems completely backward. A taller truck has less ground clearance with the same hitch installed? I was ready to order the 8" but now I'm not sure... again! ARGH...

 

I went 6". Old truck was a 4" drop this truck is 2" higher
All my trailers have adjustable tongues too so if I am off I can adjust.
If I ever have to pull something that is lower I will buy a cheapie 8" drop or pull it out of level.

I have two months to wait for the truck, so I'll weight (pun intended) for a good deal.

 

Like I said, give them a call or shoot an email. Looks like discounts are rising net wide though. Now their site says 10% as opposed to the 15% they had up this AM.

 

Hard to go wrong with the 8". I'm not gonna leave it in when I'm not towing anyways.
