F600 exhaust
Hello .
I have an F600 with a 330 HD and the downpipes attach to manifolds by with a collar on the pipe itself which is held to manifold by the 3 hole flange. No donut. Is this something a muffler shop can reproduce, the one I have been to tried to do a flare and use donut that did not work.Anybody familiar with this?
Thanks

With a single exhaust, there's no Y pipe on this truck, the left inlet pipe connects to the right inlet pipe w/a clamp.

No Ford dealer or obsolete parts vendor has either of these pipes, did you try NAPA?
Any muffler shop can make up these pipes.

None of the NAPA around here have any listings on this truck, they say their books don't go back that far. They all try to pull up the farthest back F350 which of course doesn't work.I'm really trying to find out if it had donut gaskets because when i removed the two pieces that make the y pipe there were no gaskets at connection of manifold and pipe.

NAPA has parts for 1940's/50's BIG trucks, so why wouldn't they have them for 1960's BIG trucks?
But, the bottom line is, it's an old truck, the parts guys are probably younger, they don't know diddly-squat about old trucks, so they don't want to bother and are just "shining you on!"
Exhaust inlet pipe gasket (either flat or donut type) is Ford basic part number 9450, but there's none shown in the pic or the text section for a 1964/69 with an FT engine.

NAPA had everything I needed. It came from a PAPER parts catalog, NOT the computer. Mine was a 1970 C600. Just need to get someone away from the computer.
And no, they do not use a gasket there, too much heat, it is metal on metal. The flared flange just goes against the exhaust manifold. Same with exhaust manifold gaskets to the head. They use a METAL gasket / heat shield there, again, to much heat for any comp gasket.
Done properly, there will be no leaks, and you can foot to floor slog up the hills without baking the exhaust system off!
