DIY OEM Remote Start install not working

I recently installed remote start kit #BT4Z19G364A into my 2012 Ford F-250. After programming the remote start parameters in Forscan (effectively doing what the dealer would do in the IDS computer) the remote start system seems to be interfacing with the truck. However, it will not start it. I have programmed the remote successfully, and now when I try to start the truck, I get three beeps and green blinks from the fob, which I have read indicates an open door circuit (?).

When I installed the remote start computer, there was a 4-pin orange port on the back side that I did not see a plug for. Does this need to be connected to something on the truck?

Thanks,
Doug

I have not seen anyone use this kit for long distance remote start. I believe it was superseded by breaking it into various different kits and a totally different control module.

You installed hood switch? BL3Z-19G366-A

Looking at the kit you have listed as using on eBay, I do not see a hood switch as part of the kit.

If you need additional remotes, you can use this FCC ID ELVATRKC to get a single button remote on eBay. BTW, the one with Subaru on the remote work with Ford since same FCC ID.

ELVATRKC | eBay

Oh, btw, the orange port you said is probably for the cellphone access module.

Forgot to mention that my truck has the Power Equipment group, and already has the hood switch installed from the factory.

I can use my remote fob similar to yours to start my 2015 F350 or my 2016 Fusion with the long distance remote start and it does not give any codes with the doors open.

Maybe you need to check the hood switch for a problem?

No such luck. Checked hood switch and no problems. Any other ideas?

you install the RF antenna? You plugged it into the TPMS module?

Worst case is you may need to replace the control box with the DL3Z-19A361-A kit.

I was hoping to avoid going to the dealer by using Forscan. Looks like I'll have to drop the truck off and see if it is just a programming issue. I'll save before-and-after "As-built" data and see what changes were made by the dealer IDS computer so that others will have it in the future.

Both the RF antenna and the TPMS plug connections were made.

Just got news from the dealer after they attempted programming.

This kit is not compatible with F250's. Apparently it is only spec'd for F150's and other Ford models.

Looks like I'll be looking for another kit
