The PA Chapter's "Happy New Year" January 2017 Chat and B/S Thread
Howdy folks and welcome to a new year. Little late getting this thread started, so my apologies, but we're finally off and running. It's a new book with 365 blank pages, so make the best of it. I know I've got a lot of goals for this year and I'm sure you do too...today's the best chance to go get after it.
Not going to ramble on with a lot of preamble. You know what to do, so go do it.

happy new year everyone. i'm glad the holidays are over. i'm exhausted from them. just have the Penn State game tonight, and then I can stop drinking for a while (two days, haha).
Got my truck back from the transmission guy. he redid all my brakes, with new master cylinder and brake cylinders, and i had almost no effin' brakes on the way home. Kind of pissed about that. He told me he was having trouble trying to get enough pedal to even test drive the thing, and he was right. a harrowing ride home, for sure. The theory is that the booster is shot. I don't even know how those things work. I'm thinking of taking it off and going with just a master cylinder. that should be ok, right?

Hi Bud. Well, the truck was designed without a booster. I drove the same truck years ago without a booster and it was fine. I'm not even sure why I need the dang thing. The guy I bought the truck off of put it on, and did not do a good job of it. It's a hack job.

Morning folks and happy Monday. Off today, so chasing after some errands around the house.
Steve it may well be the booster if everything else is new. If memory serves, those trucks didn't use one new. Might be worth looking into that part of it, especially if it's a hack job install.

Hi Bill. I was thinking of letting my mechanic look at it, but at some point I have to get back to doing my own work. It would help if I had a friend who knew what he was doing and didn't mind working for beer. I gotta find one of those guys!

You might have air in your lines Steve and maybe the guy didn't bench bleed the master before installing it..
