No, we were expecting it to happen but it does still startle you when it happens, it's quite loud..

 

When I was in Europe they had short fences along the eaves to stop that from happening. Could kill someone.

 

I have snow stops at the front and back of my garage to protect my vehicles parked in the driveway and myself walking out the back door but the one side of the house I let the snow fly...lol
