Glow Plugs

Ok guys, got a 96 f250 4x4 7.3 5 speed. It has a little over 250,000 miles without anything ever done to the engine except a new GPR years ago, one of the good ones. I'm going to put in new glow plugs. so what are best ones to get. I also figured since I was in there I would replace the relays and such. So just what all should I replace and what brand. I'd like to get a kit if I could with all the stuff in it, a good one, but reasonable. maybe off ebay............what is the consensus and recommendations out there.

Use Motorcraft ZDll glow plugs if you want them to last. There is only one relay to the GPs, and if you got the "good one", I wouldn't worry about it if it is working. Check the under valve cover wiring harness, valve cover gasket, and engine side pigtails for melting and burned pins.

Yep I changed out the GPR years ago with a really good one and have never had a problem. So I'll get the motorcraft glow plugs. I'm also going to get one of the valve cover harness kits. I can seem to find a Motorcraft valve cover harness set on ebay, but there are several after market ones, any suggestions.....Once I gather up the parts I'm going to have a mechanic I know change it all out, he's really reasonable.

Something to consider would be changing to the Super Duty valve cover harnesses. It is not a direct swap as the SD uses 1 plug per side while the OBS has two. The main benefit is that the SD pins are larger so that pin burnout is reduced. Do a quick search as there are several threads on it.
