My 42 half ton

I have been getting a little done to the old gal, but I have a question for you all. I am 6'4" tall and weigh 300 lbs. I have always found it a royal pain to drive these old trucks because of the steering wheel being in my chest and belly. What is the best way for me to get some swinging room behind the wheel? Change the seat cut steering column down or what. I surely can not be the only fat ******* that ever drove one of these.

That is a tough one, I had better luck with my panel since the seat would go back a few notches. I have a long torso so the biggest problem I have in the truck vs. the panel is seeing out of the window with the seat as high as it is.

Seems like cutting down the column wouldn't be all that hard. I'd look at cutting 3" or so out above the column drop.

Google fatman steering wheels. No insult intended, that's just what they are called.
