Jet chips

I'm kinda bored today so thought I'd try to read the entire internet. I came across Jet #89410 chip. Anyone ever use one, or have experience with it? My pickup is a 93 f350 460 5 speed.

Like many/most of the aftermarket mail order tune equipment, well, IMHO, just about worthless

Hi...i am a new user here. As per my experience Jet has a pretty bad rep, and I've never gotten a reason to say otherwise. Never tried one, but I've worked in high performance (shop owner) for 6 years. Go with another company.
On a low-revving motor like the 3.8, the biggest gains would be through boost, or reworking the bottom end and heads. Bolt-ons (headers, exhaust, intake) will do a little, but I think (I may get into this soon, depending on time vs. budget) that the heads are the bottleneck on this engine.
Also, since the compression is lowish (9.6:1), tuning won't get much power out without risk to the engine. If you're doing other work, also, the pre-programmed systems won't be able to compensate for your mods, which could cause a lean (too little fuel) condition, causing damage to the engine. It's likely the tuner can compensate for an exhaust and probably an intake, but I'd check with the manufacturer first before modding.
