I'll second collonite, its not a flashy brand, but it has a reputation as the longest lasting. I use it on my boat and love it. Its what I'll be using on my truck.

Collinite 845 on my trucks and boat. For the Trans Am, it get a full round of Zaino. The Collinite last forever, easy to apply and gives a good protective coating, but the Zaino has a depth to the shine that is hard to beat.

There are lots of good car care products out there. Adams polishes, Griots Garage products all quite good and similar. Haven't tried Collonite. Personally my favorite is the Swissvax but it is kinda nutso expensive. Nevertheless it has won the European best car detailing award for several years in a row so likely a good product. Even if there was a need for "curing" of the paint, by the time it is painted at the factory and arrives at the dealership is often weeks so I say get that base polish/cleaner coat on followed by a good wax job ASAP. But that is me.

You can have the best wax in the world but the true shine comes from the prepwork, I detail a little on the side and honestly there's some big name high dollar stuff that doesn't justify the price difference vs stuff at Walmart .. if your paint has swirl marks in it then it needs polished and prior to polishing should be clayed to remove any particles that may be stuck on top of the clear coat .. I've been using meguiars ultimate liquid wax which is technically a sealant, sealants typically outlast carnuaba wax by a couple months. The problem I have with most sealants is they provide a very glossy finish but not very much depth so what I do is apply the sealant and then next time i wash the truck I'll apply a true carnuaba based wax .. that's known as topping in the detail world and to me provides the extreme gloss and depth I like.

Best Car Wax Buying Guide - Consumer Reports

This is an old article but still quite interesting.

I've used Zymol extensively and I've been happy. When i bought my 2011 F-150, I started using a Mequires spray on product and it worked well but now I use Turtle Wax ICE. I work a bunch of hours and rarely get two days off in a row so being able to spray on a product and wipe it clean, lightly hand buff and walk away is important to me.
