I broke a pivot as well. They don't reproduce them for the 48-52, so as stated above, be careful.

Both of mine were seized up. I was able to get the unbroken one free with some penetrating oil, but only after I had removed it from the door.

Take the whole thing out of the door and soak it in Evaporust or you will probably break it.

I agree. And then you may still break it. While you're waiting, start looking for a replacement just in case. But keep your fingers crossed.

My container looks a little different but, it's Evaporust.

This stuff works great too.

The Prep & Etch is not as friendly to your skin as Evaporust but works a lot faster. Take your time and clean it as well as possible. Wire brush it and if still seized after a rust remover soak apply more penetrating oil. You can heat it and let it cool also. It could twist off if you try to turn it while red hot.

Be patient and try your best not to break it. They are repairable but, it gets expensive.

Hi, thanks for the great response so it looks like patience and loads of freeing oil. Sorry but here in the U.K we have different oil etc. Spares are near none existent so more care on my part.
Thanks bokker.
