I have to agree with you's that are staying 6 volt. Mine runs great too.

Does anybody need 6 volt parts? I listed stuff I had available on page one and no takers.

I'm going to convert to 12 volts so I can run A/C.

It's good to hear about all the guys keeping their trucks 6 volt! That system works fine with the correct sized cables and clean connections, unless you add a lot of accessories like a big stereo, AC like Scotty, additional lights, etc.

It's good we have a lot of guys that Value history and keepnthem the way Ford made them.

Awe Abe, that hurts my feelings a little bit. I value history and originally planned on keeping it Ford's way. It's just too hot in AZ and I'm too much of a wimp to drive it in the summer here without A/C.

Now I feel so guilty I don't know if I will be able to sleep tonight.

I learned about having good grounds and proper sized cables.
I had read about it a lot, but I was still amazed at how much cleaning up my grounds helped.

Scott, whatever you do, don't trash the 6v stuff. I don't "need" anything at the moment, but I'm sure someone will come along soon. I'm tempted to get that stuff from you just to stockpile it. I was really thinking about the generator, but I'm sure shipping would be a killer. My generator is fine, but having a spare is always a good idea

We will still like you after going to 12v. You won't get all the 6v party invites, but we will still like you. Actually I don't blame you for getting AC. I won't drive my truck enough to really need it.....I say that now.....

Joe, I drive it every day. I suffered this summer, I ain't gonna lie. I've been going back and forth on adding A/C since I got the truck. Gotta do it.

I made #00 battery cables and replaced the harness with stock type replacement. EVERYTHING worked better and the engine ran better.

I don't trash anything for these old trucks and I know I can help another forum member or have trading material.

Aw Scott, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. I know your not long while not custom. You are keeping your truck stock for the most part and I don't blame e you for getting AC in your locale! Sleep well tonight! No harm done, no harm meant.

I bought most of this stuff on eBay when I was revamping my trashed electrical system. American made bulbs and NOS or NORS American parts.

PM me if you're interested in anything. The battery is still good if anybody in Tucson is interested.

You 'could' hide a 12v battery to power the clutch. Or find a compressor that was originally installed on a pre-'67 VW.

Beav, since everybody calls you that. I already have a 12 volt evap I'm going to hide under the dash, a 12 volt Sanden compressor with Flathead pulley I'm going to kind of hide on the right side of the engine so I'm committed at this point. I also put a 12 volt motor in my stock heater.

Thank you for the suggestions though. I actually never thought of the V-Dub unit.

Merry Christmas everybody!
