Motorcraft serpentine belt

I've had a belt squeal since buying my truck a year and half ago. Over that time I replaced the tensioner, idler pulley, alternator, p/s pump. All these parts needed replaced anyway. And the squeal never went away. About 3 months ago, I replaced the belt with a Dayco from Autozone and the squeal was gone. So I thought it was the belt all along. Now the squeal has returned. So my question is, are these aftermarket belts to blame? Should I try a Motorcraft belt? No problems with the pulleys with the belt removed.

I have not heard of issues with Dayco belts, but anything is possible....personally I stick with Gates or OEM.

During your quest to silence the belt, have you ever checked the A/C bearing or clutch to make it isn't presenting to much drag? or the water pump?

Maybe the water pump is starting to weep or the front crankshaft seal and subsequently getting on the belt, thereby, making it squawk again?

It was the a/c clutch bearing. I thought it was OK, but I checked again and it had just the slightest bit of play. I replaced it about a week ago. No more noise. Thanks
