I just recently installed the plug and play kit, which included 2 keys and a small harness with the antenna. I am impressed with the range, at least 200 feet and possibly more. The range may even be farther than the wifes new jeep GCH that came factory with remote start.

I just installed the same OEM kit and can concur with the decent range. With line of sight it's around 200 feet. Personally, I wouldn't remote start it if I was any further away anyway.

I did my son's truck this weekend, and he said it worked well at his house, (about 20')until his wife pulled in between the house and the truck. Then it didn't work. He is going to keep testing. I suggested he get a new battery and try that. These new keys may not have good batteries.

The RS is limited to the same range as you had with the RKE before the mod. The antenna and extension harness are fairly cheap, why not just finish the mod with those?

This is a great post, but, I followed your video almost to the letter. I put my receiver beghind the glove box. I did all the changes with Forscan, but all I are the lights flashing when I try to remote start. The hood switch is there, it has no cel or codes. Any ideas?

Where did you get your key, and did it program correctly?

The keys came from Ford and were programmed by the dealer. Yes, I am following the correct start procedure, but all I get is two flashes from the parking lights.

It sounds like your issue may be with BCM activation. I would go back in FORscan and look at the letters to make sure they are correct.

I have checked and rechecked in the Forscan and I can't see anything wrong. The dealer made the changes to the bcm, but the text is all correct. Am I missing something?

I had the same issue, lights flash but no start. Discovered a switch for the hood was not installed and the system thought the hood was open. Once I reinstalled the switch, I could remote start the engine.
