Fixing my Tilt Steering?

Fixing my Tilt Steering?
Hi all, Ok, I have had the truck on the road for about 1 month but started getting electrical issues. My turn Signals didn't "click" when I used them and my lights were causing my voltage to go through the roof. Then when I start the truck the radio would come on but if I turned the Heater (Blower) on the radio went off. So doing what any good over reactor would do.. I pulled my dash (I needed to replace the Vaccum Lines for the Heater anyway) and went back over my wiring looking for any ssigns of damage or burning/shorting etc.. I did not find anything, BUT a lot of the problems started after I put an old Windshield wiper (Intermittent) in the truck. I have pulled that out and have just the regular connector in there, (the switch {old}) is for intermittents I changed a couple of grounding locations since I had two grounds at one spot, replaced the Hoses and put the dash back in. Now I have taken my extra column (tilt) and put it in the truck as well. I put in a new Turn signal Switch, and checked the actuator, (I thought it might be bad so I bought a replacement) but it looks OK. I just ordered a new Key Cylinder so everything in the Column should be in good shape when I drive it again. My issue right now is the tilt does not tilt. When I depress the turn Signal lever (it mashes against the bar) the bar moves but doesn't seem to do anything to the Tilt. (I do not have the Steering wheel tightened back down yet as I may need to take it apart again... BUT does anyone know, or has had this issue before? I'd really like to use the Tilt, but need to get this straightend out before I start driving it again...

Mine started getting really hard to tilt and then not working. I was able to put some small pipe around turn signal rod. I un-screwed it out of the column, I went to the store and found pipe that slipped around it, essentially making it thicker where it presses on the little bar in the column. I only used enough pipe on the blinker shaft so it helped make contact with the part in the column. I didn't run the pipe all the way as far as I could. The thickness of the pipe made it work like it was new again. I changed my blinker switch assembly years later and I think there was a lot of loose screws in the column that I was able to tighten that helped as well.
