Question Fuel Gauge Troubleshooting on '91 E150

Help! My fuel gauge starting working intermittently & spiking all the way up and NOW it won't work at ALL - Where do I start tracking the problem ??? (I have a '91 Econoline
with an external fuel pump)

Fuel Gauge Troubleshooting on '91 E150

Its in the tank, but you have to replace the whole fuel pump asembly to fix it, ~$150 for the assembly then drop the tank.

FYI: there are two pumps, one on the frame rail and one in the tank. you can not buy just the fuel level sender, you must buy the whole hanger assembly to get the sender. You may be able to get the sender from the junk yard, but I doubt that it works any better. They do not last long enough to make it worth the effort even if it did work.
