99+ manifolds pedestal and turbo make sense to install?

I have a spare 96 engine I plan on having the machine shop overhaul, I was planning on replacing the manifolds, delete the ebv, put on new up pipes and rebuild the stock turbo. But when I was pricing up parts it looks like it would be much cheaper just to use 99+ up pipes, manifolds, ebv deleted pedestal and new turbo. Would that make sense? I don't plan on running an intercooler just yet so I know I'd need to make something for the turbo discharge maybe different intakes but other than that is there any reason the 99+ stuff won't fit in an obs? Will my 3" down pipe still work too?

I might go with stage 1 or something but nothing too crazy. I daily drive this truck 200 miles or so a day. It weighs 9,000lbs empty and I own tow a trailer a dozen or so times a year. I know an intercooler is ideal, I may do a water intercooler setup like I did on my idit because then I can actually control intake air temp and keep it from getting too cold. But I also really like the clean engine bay. On my idit, I found cruising around and unless wot then intercooler really doesn't do much.

It seems the 99+ parts are much cheaper and readily available. That's why I was thinking of going with them.

Everything but the dp is bolt on. You'll have to make a dp.
Unless you are getting it free or dirt cheap it's not worth it unless you're doing a 38r

So it sounds like i'm just better off taking the spare turbo i have, rebuilding it with this kit

http://www.ebay.com/itm/94-97-Powerstroke-7-3L-TP38-Turbo-Upgrade-Compressor-Housing-Rebuild-kit-66-88/182041090234?_trksid=p2060778.c100276.m3476&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140725133649%26meid%3D47a1e670fe4f4530b3394fa6c773fa4f%26pid%3D100276%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D182103024994
then cutting and welding the pedestal and the EBV on the spare turbo i have and just buying new up pipes and manifolds.

If you are cutting and welding the pedestal you may as well make a s366 mount and just do that.
