Anyone know what the original tire that came on a '95 F150 2wd?

My truck only had 60K miles on it when I bought it this spring. It has a Goodyear Wrangler for a spare. Just wondering if that might be the original tire? It currently has General Grabbers on it that the original owner had just put on.

What options did you have back then. Only new truck I bought back then was a '96 F350 dually and had Firestones on it if I recall.

 

Yes, Goodyear wranglers were an original tire

I believe they were rt/s

 

Check the build date on the spare tire, that will tell you if it is original.

I know the General Grabbers that are on it are HORRIBLE in the snow(PO only drove it in the summer). I'm getting some better tires mounted this weekend. I've never had traction issues with any truck I've owned, all 2wd. I was hung up in an 1" of snow the other day.

Oh, I've got a T/L to install also. This one wheelie crap is worthless.

 

The ones I saw were Goodyear Wrangler on XLT and General Ameriway XT on XL.

Wranglers are terrible in the snow too.

 

It has Generals on it currently(that is what PO put on), but it never saw snow til I bought it.

I've got some GY Ultra Grip Winter tires coming.

My last '95 had Firestone Wilderness AT's on it and it was a TANK in the snow. Even with open rearend it would go anywhere. Of course those were the tires on the big recall back when and I'm thinking they aren't being made anymore. At least I haven't found them online anywhere.

 

Unless they are the Wrangler Duratracs. They have been great for me for the past 5 years, but not enough tread left for this year

I just ordered some Firestone Winterforce for this winter, we'll see how they do.

 

I'm sure there were multiple possibilities, but when I bought my '95 F-150 with 27K miles in 1998 it had pretty heavily worn Goodyear Wrangler AT tires. I took them off soon after (when I lifted the truck and put 33s on it) and put the tires on a trailer. I still have them on it.

 

And the 90's date codes are only 3 digits. For example a 325 means 32nd week of 1995.

A 3205 means 32nd week of 2005.

But not every tire made in the 90's got a stamp. I had some Super Swampers that had no date codes, but I got them used so who knows.
