I was originally planning on mounting mine to the column, but couldn't get a good angle that didn't either block my other gauges, or was way out of the line of sight to even look at it.

LOL... ...8K?? By applying some basic mathematics I only have to rev my old Caddy up twice to hit 8K.

I have my little redline marker set at 5K and that's a stretch. The old Caddy tops out about 4700 RPM. Right now with my weak fuel pump its pretty much self limiting to well under 4500 RPM. But, the tach looks good.

Ted, I was also thinking of using a matching tach in a cup like you did. Matching isn't going to be too much more cash... May look for a cheap one and then save up for a VDO Cockpit Royale tach.

Sure like you gauges setup... Looks great and well laid out!

Thanks,

I still have one or two more gauges to add to this set up. The Sport Comps probably don't fit the style I'm going with on the rest of the truck. But I just have always liked them so I just went with them.

My gauges were not cheap. I bought most of them back in 2008 or 2009. I think I've got around $600-$700 into them and I've got another $200-$300 in gauges to get. It's kind of ridiculous. I've owned many vehicles that cost me less then these gauges!! Oh and I believe this tach was around $115.00 when I bought it. Now it's like $175.00!

But I do like this tach. It's the 3 3/4" inch one. I thought it fit the truck better then the big 5" monster tach.

Those VDO Royale gauges do look like they fit the style of these old trucks. They are nice looking gauges.
