I like doing the the things that most people won't ever notice.

Seems like we have to do two of the possible three things.
1. Wider fender
2. Tubs
3. Wider box

Do any two and you have the room you need.

Those are the stock Corvette sway bars. My donor was an '84, but I think the C4's are all the same?
There is some rake on the Flat Out setup - I'm guessing about 2".

I found it easier to go with a degree rather than an inch measurement mine is about 3 degrees rake .

3 degrees sounds reasonable, and certainly easier to measure. It doesn't matter what angle the frame sits at, as long as the difference between the frame and crossmember is 3 degrees.

ah ok. What I did before I did anything was take off the wheels from the stock suspension then put the truck on jack stands at the ride height I was looking for. Then took front and rear measurements. Then once I had things stripped down I set my ride height and rack based off of those numbers.

Really? My donor didn't come with a sway bar. And none of the aftermarket replacements ones I've looked at have the dip in the middle like yours. So I guess I'll keep looking.

Took a few weeks, but the crossmember is tacked in. The doner rack is not in good shape. Don't know what the PO did to it eactly, or if it was that way when it got it. But anyhow.
Next is to notch for the rack. I want to throw on the control arms and spindles to make sure I see where the notches exactly go.

However, I see that the leaf spring is still in my clip. Seem like removing it is pretty doable using a jack if it is still in a car. But mine is sitting on the floor. How do you safely removing the spring in this situation?

I think I removed mine in the car, but I don't think there's a lot of force on it once the weight is off.

My PO installed my front end and it uses coilovers . If you are using the control arms there should be no pressure on the spring once they're removed , but you will certainly have to jack it up to see and I'm sure to remove it . Sorry I'm not of more help but someone should have the answer .

Did mine with the donor on the floor of my shop. Just loosen both side equally. If you do just one side then you have some issues.

When you do the notch make make sure to only notch as much as you need. Don't feel you have to put in the entire u plate they give you.
