It sounds just like what mine did last winter when my fuel jelled shot of starting fluid started right up no more problems

Oh yeah? Well we are parking her in the shop tonight and I'll see if she starts on her own tomorrow. Maybe the fuel did jell. If so that sucks. But I'll put some additive in it. But something has to be wrong with the glow plug relay. Had a long day so going to sit back tonight. I appreciate the quick responses, thank you all kindly. I'll get back to ya'll tomorrow.

I'd wonder the same thing, it's gotta be pretty damn cold for the fuel to gel up. I live in Maine and have had plenty of 0 or -5 mornings and never a gel up.

The only way I can see it happening is if he's got summer fuel and it's -15 or so.

I've never had fuel gel up in any equipment or trucks and I've seen - 10f several times.

The truck I have now had 8 bad glow plugs. Plenty of smoke when cranking it over cold. I've had two idms go in it though. No start, no smoke. The tach moves, wts comes on, ipr and icp register.

You can bypass that glow plug relay easily enough with a heavy gauge wire or jumper cable to the batter positive if you think it might be that.

Well it's been around minus 35 to minus 45 here in Manitoba with the windchill at night. Turns out every one of my glow plugs was replaced with cheap glow plugs. Zero had any connection and they all were full of oil. I decided to pull a couple apart. Anyways all are replaced with international parts. Fired right up. I appreciate all the help. Weird how they worked all week then nothing one morning. Happy I have a couple friends prepared to drive 3 hours one way to get my truck and I. And happy to have people willing to help me research and troubleshoot with me on this site.

I am glad to hear it. Goes to show, like knowledgeable guys here always say...Motorcraft or International only for parts.
