[PICTURES] Clutch, transmission, linkage, drive shaft, axel problem? Or?

Hello! I recently let a dumb friend of mine borrow my 1989 Bronco II 2.9 manual. He was pulling donuts and popping the clutch hard and my gears stopped catching. Clutch still feels springy but all my gears feel like neutral. The gears are not catching and so on of my gears will send my car forward.

Ive tried putting it into 4x4 low and high and nothing has changed. I don't know what the problem is!

however, if you look at the picture, something is very wrong with the drive shaft.

Thanks so much! I'm going to need this baby for the winter. Looks like a screwed up drive shaft.

OMG, your frined didn't do you any favors....it might be as simple as a new pinion seal/assembly & u-joints or could be much more extensive.......

Looks like the driveshaft is broken at the CV. Have someone put it in gear while you look to see if that is the case. Your option are a new one at your local parts store or used from and auto salvage. Be sure to measure overall length and the spacing on the flange mounting holes so you get the correct part.

I towed my car back home, a horrible grinding and clanking noise would erupt from seemingly the front end of the car.

What kind of clutch or transmission problem could this be? I towed in neutral. My hubs were not locked and I was in Two Wheel drive.

Also, the drive shaft spins even in neutral.

I'm at a loss, what do you all think?

THANK YOU SO MUCH!
