Lift questions

Looking to put a 4" lift on my 2001 F250, 7.3L, manual trans....

1. I have front coil springs, all lifts I am seeing have front lift springs... best lift with front coils or do I have to build my own?
2. With the manual trans, will I need to do anything with clutch hoses, shifter, etc?
3. any recommendations on a lift? I do tow my boat (small, diesel doesn't even know its there), haul some rock or whatever now and again, tow my sandrail and trailer.. once more, doesn't even know its there.
4. looking for a 35 or possibly a 37" tire... not sold on a 4", open to a 6"... but then will I need to re-gear?

TIA
Mike

Since you have coil springs up front your truck is 2wd unless some one swapped in the front axle from a 05-07 4x4. If it is 2wd fabtech makes a 6in lift for 2wd diesels all the 4in kits are for gas trucks if your truck is indeed 2wd I wouldn't even consider of lifting it. A 6" lift on 2wd a 37 isn't going to fit a 6" kit and a 35 wont't fit on a 4" either on a 2wd a 2wd with a 6" kit will sit about as high as a 4x4 with 4". My advice and you probably aren't going to like it leave it alone.

Yeah.. truck is not a 2wd... and while I did not buy it brand new off the lot, it was only 3 years old when I did with 40K on it...

I thought that there was a version that came with the coil springs for a snow plow setup?

The more I think about it... I believe it was 05 that I bought the truck.
So, I guess it is possible that someone swapped out the front axle...

Is there a way to tell if this is what was done? I do not see any cutting evidence of things removed. front axle have a identifier?

The only 99-04 trucks that are coil sprung from the factory are 2 wheel drive there was no coil spring plow prep package the snow plow prep package springs were x code leafs ALL 99-04 4x4 Super Duties are leaf sprung. If you really can't figure it out post some pictures.

Subscribed to see what you come up with. I can't imagine a previous owner swapping to coil springs and not lifting.

OK.. I feel like a moron now....

I mixed up the trucks... I was looking at a lift for my sons Titan when I was looking into a lift for my F250 as well... My bad.

OK.. Anyone got info on my original questions other than the coil springs?

I knew there was something going on there you can run a 35 on either a 4 or 6" lift you will need 6 for 37's and most likely your still going to have a bit of rubbing depending on you wheel choice same with 35's on the 4" if you put 10 or 12 wide wheel on there with 35's its gonna rub. As far as lifts manufacturers go I would first say AVOID superlift at all cost and would recommend procomp, zone, or bds. Can't help with any of the manual trans ?'s though. If you don't want to regear I'd stick with 35's although you will likely still notice it's lacking a little acceleration and pulling power. Most lifted trucks you see running around even with 38's or larger aren't regeared.

Thanks Mike... I was looking at the 4" more so than the 6"...

I'm not up for a re-gear at this point, maybe if I decide to go bigger in the future. Main use is beach and fishing, planning on putting a shark rack on the back... the extra ground clearance and some wider tires will help with the dunes and sand/mud.
