Well, my first attempt at homemade beef jerky is currently marinating in the fridge. Going to put it in the dehydrator tomorrow and see how it comes out.

As far as I know, I have nothing going on those days. But if I'm still coughing stuff up, you most likely don't want me around. It's been a full week today with this stuff. I've had about enough.

How long does it stay in the dehydrator?

James, I'm going to attempt to lay laminate floor in my basement and then if that all goes well, my kitchen. Since Bob, Matt, Marty, and some other here have experience doing that, I've been gathering advice and asking for help so that I can do a better than a 'first timer'. I've got the moisture barrier (though Mum's puppy took a good crack at it this morning), under layment foam and flooring ready to go. I've also borrowed a miter saw, got a jigsaw, and an undercut saw.

I realized this morning, that I'll need some expansion strips and quarter round to finish things off nicely. So that will mean a pancake compressor and brad nailer, which I have coming next week (on loan again).

Every time I think I've found an answer, I find another question! But am always open to more help, advice, tips and tricks.

almost forgot Josh... Make sure you have the laminate sitting in the room your going to lay it in for atleast 48 hrs before you try actually laying it.. it needs to acclimate to the room before its laid.. some say 24 hrs but we let it sit for 48 to be on the safe side... if you dont do this youll end up with warped floors. my boss found this out the expensive way.. ended up paying to have the floor done twice..

Gotcha! I have it in the room next to the rooms it's going in. Should be close in temp\humidity of the guest room it's in. Unless I light the fire place, which case it will really dry everything out!

So Decided to not pull the base board in the rooms, but to put quarter round around the edge. It looks like I'll have to rip cut the first length of flooring or end up with less than 2 inches on the final strip. Not ideal. I think I've settled on what corner and what room to start in as well as what direction to go. (at least for today, since i've said this to myself 3 times already with 2 different corners). But this way, it will leave the trickest parts till close to the end, and put them on the length wise direction of the boards, vs the horizontal.

Boy I'm learning a whole lot!!! Thanks Shaun for all the advice!

It stayed in for 5 hours, and turned out pretty tasty if I do say so my self. Especially for my first attempt at it!

Hope everybody's doing well.
I made a doctors appointment for this Friday. I'm in my 2nd week with the crud that's gotten a hold on me. Thought it was time to get looked at since I can feel this stuff in my lungs when I cough.
We've had Ka'Bluey back for one year, this last weekend. And not too much time left on the clock, and we'll be taking our Christmas lights display down for the year.

Hope you get to feeling better, Bob.
I took my Mom to the Dr. today. This crap has worn her down. It's a Virus.
News report today said NC will be a hot spot for the Flu later on this year...

Thanks Tony, I'm ready to be over this at any given moment.
