How high Millage is too high?
I recently was involved in an accident and am getting $5500 from insurance company. Im wantimg to get a pickup. Everyone keeps telling me I will only be buying problems for that amount. I drive a truck, I was recently laid off because I have diabetes and have to take insulin so can't drive at the moment which means no work. We're getting by on wife's salary, but not much left for any repairs.
I have found a 2004 F150 extended cab 4x4 with 131K miles. The truck is very clean. No rust, one little ding in tail gate. The bed isn't all dented. The dealership is asking $5800. My ol man says that it'll probably just start having problems . He is a Dodge man, and I haven't had a truck in years. And have never owned a Ford. My dad had an old ford when I was growing up on the farm, but other then that nothing .
Just wondering everyones take. If yall think that's a bit to many miles . I realize most of it matters how it was cared for. But I don't know I'd get an honest answer from a dealership.
