Installing a newer dash in a 2000 f650

How difficult is it to install a 2008+ dash into a 2000 f650?

Welcome to FTE.

I would venture to say you are the first to ask. My guess would be about a 8.5 to 9 on a 10 point scale of difficulty. This is due to the necessity of marrying up the electrical.

Is this just a cosmetic consideration or did your cab burn up and you got a smokin' deal on a 2008 dash?

Strictly cosmetic and no I don't have a dash. I just recently bought the truck and before I start dressing it up on the inside I was wondering if that was possible with the dimensions etc.. I'm having a hard time finding parts for it and was thinking here is the best place to pick people's thoughts and experience

There are a few things I'd like to do to the truck and not sure yet what is feasible. New front grille new headlights newer dash? Front air ride or air seats.

Do you mean just the trim, or the entire electronic dash?

If you mean the electronics, you won't have all the digital information required for it to communicate with the PCM/ABS/whatever to drive all the instruments.

If you were re-powering with 2008 engine, PCM and all the rest, well, it would probably bolt-in, if the 2008 F650 has the same cab as the 2000, which I have no clue about ...

Thank you guys for your replies. Sounds like it's way more involved and difficult not hardly worth it. Might just try to find a nicer dash from the same generation and swap it that way. I have a 2005 king ranch 350 which is nicer inside so it's kind of a downgrade as far as the interior but I can't complain because the 650 is a great truck just want to dress it up.

Just tryingredients to get some pointers from the group. The hardest thing to find is a chrome grille. Does anyone have one or know where to get one!
