Hey, I'm looking for to make my 92 F-150 4x4 sound mean! It's got completely stock exhaust and it's not in bad shape, except for the exhaust leak up around the manifolds. Anyway, I figure this is a good time to upgrade my exhaust, and just wanted to listen to your thoughts on what I should put on it? I've been hearing a Flowmaster 40 series is a good addition, what do you guys think? let me know! Thanks in advance!!

 

I have heard the flowmaster 40 is a good choice on the inline although I couldn't tell ya one way or the other. I have installed 2.5" dual no cat from dual outlet headers through generic in house turbos offset in/out and am very happy with the sound (for the six) it sounds like a muffled tractor except deeper if that makes sense and a lot cheaper than flowmaster. Don't think you can really go wrong with any turbo type muffler, good luck, nice truck

 

Thanks for the info, I'm tired of my six sounding like a sewing machine My buddy's got a 95 F-150 with a 302 and I'm never going to hear the end of it for buying a six. My brother had an 87 Dodge Dakota with a V-6 straight piped and it sounded really cool. Only problem is E-testing is coming to my county starting next year, so I'm looking for a deep, loud tone, but that's also legal. Thanks

My cousin has a 94 inline six and he has glass packs because it doesnt sound very good with flowmasters. My 5.0 rules with a flowmaster 40 series.
