intermittently losing dash power, gauges, radio, ect.

I have a 2007 6.0 with 260k on it losing gauges and radio intermittently while driving. Lately 2-3 times a day, lasting 3-4 seconds a time.

I have heard it could be the shift lever, instrument cluster, fuses, etc. I have kind of ruled out fuses based on the behavior of the failure.

Looking for a second opinion before I start taking the dash apart or send it in. The truck just can't be down for a long time right now. Thanks.

I think there is a fairly recent posting about somebody else having this same type issue, and it turned out to be a loose main ground in the cab under the kick panel.

There is also a common problem with the retain power accessory circuit in the instrument cluster. My 06 had it, contact circuit board medics, there are a sponsor here. Good work at a fair price. They will also help you trouble shoot the problem, no charge

Do the power windows quit working when you loose power too? If so I would say IC. I know CBM has an exchange program now so won't be down for long

It hadn't crossed my mind to test the windows when the dash goes dead. I will check next time it happens.

My 02 did it and so does my 06.
Had the 06 in to shop several times and even exchanged the dash. It still does it about once a month , I just live with it.
Everything starts working again in a few minutes.

Dash, radio and windows intermitently quick

Like TooHuge, having a power outage on dashboard, radio, heater/air conditioner and power windows intermittently go out on a 2007 F-150 FX2. They usually go back on after a short period of the power being off. The first time it happened, I stopped a light and fiddled with the buttons on the dash and was able to reset the dash. I had pressed the odometer reset button and a message came up in the info panel that houses the mileage output. The message said "reset" so I let it do it' thing and within a minute or 2 everything came backup and worked. Since then, it will not reset using that technique. Any ideas?

Oh, the cruise control works but the light indicating it's on does not light.

And the power door locks work with the remote.

I have remover the battery terminal and let it sit for several minutes (10 to 15) but that didn't help.
