1984 F250 6.9 won't start

Good Morning,

I have a 1984 F250 with the 6.9l diesel engine. I cannot get the truck to start. I have checked the neutral safety switch (everything is fine there) and replaced the fender mounted solenoid. Power is going to both sides of the starter solenoid when I turn the key into the start position. I can hear a click on the fender-mounted solenoid when I turn the key but that's it. I have a suspicion that the starter is gone but would appreciate any input on the matter before I replace the starter.
Thank You.

You're on the right track, if you are getting power to the starter side of that relay when the key is in the start position and assuming your batteries aren't dead then the starter is most likely the culprit.
But before you replace check ALL cable connections, particularly the one on the starter. And check and clean all grounds.

yeah, check your starter connections first. New starters for these trucks are spendy. Can you get it to kick by arcing the postes on the fender mounted relay?
