Post changing DPF myself

Hi guys, have posted before about problems with dpf as reduced engine power and other trouble codes.
Then i ordered the new (guess remanufactured) DPF and after seeing some videos on youtube decided to change it myself.
I did it in about 4 hours without lifting truck. It was not easy, but possible
The main pain was getting dpf out from pipe tube fitting, it was very rusted but a lot of WD40, time, hummer, and it got out finally.
Installing the new dpf was a lot easier. The one problem more was i wasn't able to unsrew oxygen sensor out of dpf's end, but i did not care about it because my new dpf was already with the new one.
And yes, as it was said in instruction which was enclosed with dpf, first thing i did was disconnecting my batteries. After changing dpf i reconnected batteries, started engine, and cleared all dtcs, and everything is ok!!! Now i drive my truck like i'm 16 lucky with boost and speed
If somebody has questions about it, feel free to ask, i will try to help!

Glad you were able to get it done! Did you get a good deal on the DPF?

great to hear.

I have a almost new DPF and CAT waiting to go in and ran into rusty . took off all nuts and bolts but the pipes are fused. I have been spraying with penetrate and tourching...no luck. may have to cut off the old and weld in some new pipes to take the new.

was also thinking of doing a 1 into 2 and putting a y pipe after the manifold.

right now Im working on a complete rocker replacement so it will be a while before I finish the exhaust work.

Speakerfritz, i was almost ready to refuse to do it when i saw that pipe from exaust has pieces of metal which stand out of pipe. So i decided to insert some metal piece to underneath that pieces and work with my hummer so i unfolded them and then again penetrate and hummer work on old dpf hanger and it went out. I will post pictures freehand draw sorry that i didnt photos of my work, but when im working 4 hours laying on the ground without help i wasnt happy to take video or photo of my work(

later when you insert new dpf in to pipe you just work smoothly with your hummer to fold the pieces you unfolded before and its ok

And Yes, i forgot to say that the new dpf was a little bit shorter then old one, and i was shocked, but later realised that i can move the exaust pipe a little bit to the side of dpf by hummer again, and hangers allow that so i got extra 1-2" inches to do it

Congrats on a happy ending. That has to be one crappy job. I hope you wore safety glasses to keep all the rust and crap out of your eyes.
Hey what did the inside of the old.one look like?
