2002 F250 7.3L No Start

Another "no start" issue...

The details:
- 2002 F250 7.3L
- Rosewood stage two single shot injectors (rebuilt 1 week ago).
- DP Tuner
- Brand new OEM IPR
- ICP about two months old (OEM)
- New UVH's installed about a month ago

The issue:
After installing the injectors and driving about 30 miles the truck died and will not restart. Had to have it towed home. Thus far, I've unplugged the ICP, switched out the CPS with a known good, replaced the IPR, checked the hpop simply by removing the fill plug on the top of the reservoir and gave it a quick crank - oil definitely came pouring out, removed valve covers and plugs to verify oil in the high pressure rails. Oil dummy gauge climbs after about 5 seconds of cranking and seems to hold. Hoping it's not an injector failure as I just had these reworked. EDIT: Forgot to mention, not seeing any white smoke while cranking. Fuel bowl, full of fuel and fuel pump was replaced this past spring.

I'm stumped and hoping someone else has an idea of what to check next?

Tried taking a snapshot from a video to show the readings. The ICP seems low, and when unplugged shoots up the 2500, but still no start.

Thanks for any help offered!

You can check the fuel pump by opening the drain valve on the fuel filter housing and turning the ignition on. If the pump's good, it'll put a good stream on the ground.

Open valve, turn ignition on, see if flow is strong, turn ignition off, close valve. Mind you, it'll make a mess unless you have a pan to catch it.

Do you get a WTS light when you turn the ignition on?

Hi John,
Fuel pump seems to be working. Verified when installing new IPR and accidentally bumped one of the fuel line connections. Ended up spraying diesel when the pump was priming.
Yes, get the wait to start light, wait for it to go off before cranking.
Thanks.

Also should mention, oil level was verified. Also suctioned out old oil from hpop reservior and refilled with fresh oil (done while replacing the IPR).

A few more details, when the truck died I noticed the oil pressure gauge had dropped to zero.
With the sudden loss of pressure, could I have blown an injector o-ring? I'm reluctant on pulling them as I'm not sure of I can reuse the o-rings?

Also, performed buzz test, all injectors seemed to be "buzzing" as they should.

If you blew an o-ring and it stalled, it would have emptied your HPOP reservoir. I would say your issue is electrical. Do you get any tach movement while cranking? Have you swapped the CPS?

Edit: Yes, I see you did swap out the CPS.

Do I read the IPR at 65% in that screen shot?

Thanks appreciate that!

Glad to hear it's most likely not injector related.

IPR starts at 14.9 and goes up to 65 while cranking.

Ipr iirc seems too high...if unplugging the IPR fails to get the truck started I would suspect bad IPR and replace it with OEM or better

I just went out and started mine. The IPR starts out at 14.8 and jumped to 42 when it started, then dropped back. I suspect yours just keeps climbing in an effort to start. I see you did already replace the IPR recently.

You don't want to unplug the IPR. You're thinking of the ICP. You can unplug the ICP and start your truck, it just won't run right.

Tried unplugging tge ICP which boosted it to around 2500.

Just ran the koeo test and cane up with an error, P0605: Internal Control Module Read Only Memory (ROM). Maybe this is caused by the DP tuner chip?

Also while cranking the truck saw no oil coming out of the injector deflector spouts... back to wondering if it's the hpop?

I believe it's electrical. Have you checked the HPOP again? Pull the plug and see if the oil is near the top. Should be about an inch from the top.

If the injectors are not getting a signal to fire, I don't think you'll see any oil coming out of the deflector spouts.

I guess you could remove the chip and try it. But the tuning is almost never the problem, especially if it was running before.
