JBL Antenna cable

So I installed a new radio in my '95 exploder limited with the JBL system. Was looking for the antenna wire and found it with a coupling right after it comes through the firewall. It has a real odd connector and not enough length to make it to the stereo. 2 electrical wires go through the wirewall with it, maybe for a power antenna. I unhooked it from the box in the back and there was the same oddball connector. Also that box has a sticker on it that says cellphone only and I have an antenna in the back quarter glass. Man I should have just found as XLT. lol I've looked for adapters but not sure what that end is. Anyone have any experience with this that would know an easy solution besides replacing the whole antenna.

So I found an adapter pretty easy. Metra 40-FD10. Problem is its way short and I can't find a longer one. gonna have to find an extension.

Did your '95 have the original radio, and if so, how was the antenna connected to it? It seems unlikely that the original radio would have had an antenna pigtail longer than than adapter. I'm curious why this would be too short.

Since you have the JBL system, it seems you maybe should have purchased this bypass kit which has the antenna adapter along with the amplifier bypass. I'm not sure if this antenna adapter is any longer though.

The jbl systems have an amp in the back that controlled everything so the antenna ran back to it. That bypass kit would have been great but the adapter is too short and the numbnutz who had this Explorer before me cut the harnesses.
