What is the best way to haul a dually bed on a trailer?

My buddy has a 2001 PSD that he bought used and the bed is trashed. I found him a bed and need to go pick it up this weekend, but I'm not quite sure what the best way to haul it is. If I had a similar truck, I'd probably flip it over and haul it upside down on my bed, but I have a 2015 F150 SCrew SB.

I have access to a utility trailer with the metal rails on it and possibly a car hauler with no sides but fenders to deal with. I don't have a large stash of old tires to put on the trailer. Just trying to haul it about 100 miles without damaging it. He's out of state and will come probably Christmas in his truck minus bed and we'll install it.

I've thought about upside down, I've also thought about 2 stacks of pallets, front and rear to lift it up off the bed of the trailer and above the fenders.

I like the pallet idea, but I would screw them together. That bed is going to be heavy, and I would not risk flipping it twice to haul it upside down. Obviously strap it down well, but there should be plenty of good anchor points so that should not be an issue.

Upside down, strapped down to trailer, on lumber (or, as we called it in the military, dunnage). Moving blankets can also be useful on the contact points, to prevent the paint from being rubbed off.

So, the guy offered to deliver for an extra $100. I figure maybe that's the best way, LOL. If it gets damaged in transit, I can refuse if needed. It's about 80 miles one way, so worth it to me. Thanks.

One other plus to having him deliver it. If something falls off in transit
and causes an accident you not the one with the liability for the accident.

Both your bank account and insurance Co will think you.
