HELP!!!

Does anyone know of a system I can use to be able to use this method to tow my Jeep on a wooden floored trailer?

I currently have.....

PJ Trailers | 4" Channel Carhauler

Links would be great if you have them.

are D-rings bolted to a wooden deck secure enough to be considered "secure"?
(asking, not criticizing)

there is one guy here using E-track, but I'm not sure about that solution either.

Valid question, I would think for this application it could be with good materials and perhaps increasing the number of them.

Ideally they should be welded to the sides of the trailer at least.

Ones like these can have a 5000 lb capacity. But you have to have a piece of steel on the other side for that rating. Usually the more expensive ones come with that backing plate.

Just D rings wont give me what I am looking for.

With any thing you go with you MUST use a backing plate to spread the load out or the bolts will pull thru the wood.
I would make the plate 1" wider all the way around the hold down you go with.
Min thick would 1/8".

So if using Etrack 4"x 5' the backing would be 6" x 5'2" would not hurt to go bigger.

Nothing like getting plates that are made for the tracks!
It may not be a big deal with wood but if you use plates on metal make sure you round the edges of the plates on the side going to the metal or wood.

What happens with metal the sharp edges of the plate acts like a shear and cuts thru the metal the size of the plate.

I got scared away from this system and now just making my own. I am dropping angle iron (2X2x3/16) through the boards of the trailer. Holding them down with 1/2 grade 8 bolts to the trailer frame. Welding on 4000# WLL (12,000# breaking) D Rings to the angle iron.
