Super Cab Back Seat Ideas

Hey all, I have a 75 Super Cab and I love the extra space inside; however, I feel like it is wasted most of the time. Has anyone found a good way to convert the back to storage or do they sell bench seats for the 75? I've been considering buying some ammo boxes and securing them in the back, but they will still be low to the floor and not very convenient.

I would guess that any rear bench seat out any 73-79 SC would bolt right in?

You do know they put a set of fold up/down jump seats in there as another option?

Here is my spare set I was checking out in the back of my Bronco. I ended up NOT using them, PM sent.

When I get the time, I'm going to make a speaker box/parts box. The parts box will be to stock any extra parts that might be needed for emergencies and the necessities like oil and water. Might add physical things like a sleeping bag also.

My '74 has the apparently optional full width bench, it folds down into a steel topped platform for for carrying treasures. I've tried sitting back there. Wouldn't wanna do it for longer that a trip to the tasty freeze!

Because nearly every rubber seal leaks, I leave it in seat mode to keep the vinyl out of the puddles.

So you have folder jumps in it now, but want this?

That's correct! If I could have the full width fold down seat that would be ideal, but I'm also interested in other creative options people have come up with for storage.

My 1st SCab was a later model, a 1985, but had the same seat, although velour. I always wanted to get some matching material and some denser foam and make a matching mattress so I could fold it down to the metal and have a 4" pad back there to "sleep" on.

Mine is completely full of vehicle recovery gear, a full tool kit, jack and stands, spare commonly replaced truck parts (lights, belts, hoses, plugs, points distributor, wipers, fluids, etc), a pioneer kit, a bug out bag, a hand winch, several non-lethal weapons, a DC converter and a set of ancient kenwood 6x9s......with a plywood sleeping platform on top hiding it all, kind of like a sleeper cab in a rig.

Ready for anything.

I was told once that the backseat out of a newer one would fit (and are WAY more common), but never tried it - mine has the jumpseats, and my kids prefer them, more room to stretch their legs (and they can't touch each other....)

I actually thought about putting a bunch of stuff back there and hiding it with some sort of platform/bench for sleeping or easy access.
