Headlight Switch | Advice Needed

After having too many problems with the parking lights and headlights, I decided to finally dive into the problem and fix it. Let me be clear, the previous owner was inventive in getting the electrical system working. His MacGyver like approach to problem solving has left me with electrical connections made up of bolt, washer and nut then wrapped with 10 feet of electrical tape. Instead of using stranded wire, he used solid core wiring that you'd find used in a house.
Since I noticed that when the headlights would suddenly go out, if I shook the wire near the headlight switch they would sometimes come back on. When I looked at the headlight switch, it was covered with masking tape so I began removing it. Under the masking tape was a layer of electrical tape. When I got it all off and removed from the dash I realized it didn't look like the headlight switch it should have. My truck is a 1960 F100 and this one is not correct. After removing the headlight switch from the truck I cleaned it. I found the part number on it - C0DF-11654-C1.
I hope to purchase a wiring harness in the future, but for now I want to just get my truck running, until I can afford the harness. I know the headlight switch for my year truck is hard to locate and probably more expensive than buying the C0DF-11654-C1 (no idea what year or what model ford used this part). So here's my question: What's the benefit, if any, for finding and installing the correct part over finding another C0DF-11654-C1?

I'm sure Numberdummy will weigh in with the right info but you part number is consistent with a 1960 year model truck

Thanks Bill!
Would you know the part number for the fuse block used with the headlamp switch? I'll be needing that too.
Again, I truly appreciate your help.

Bill,
Again, I can't tell you enough just how much you're appreciated!
I had thought the proper headlamp switch was the one pictured below. I based this on prior posts to this website.
Thanks again for setting me straight.
You're the best!
