Ok so my buddy pulled a motor out of a Lincoln Town car, and put it in my Mountaineer.

The truck is running rough, it seems to lag when I hit the gas, and it stalls when coming to a stop or when turning. It seems to idle fine, but stalls usually when coming to a slow stop.

Engine failsafe mode has came on the message center, but didn't seem to effect anything. I've searched all over the web for advice.

One thing my buddy is worried about is the knock sensor. He wasn't sure where to hook it up on the new motor. Could that be the problem?

Anybody have a clue?
