I was looking for an all Henery Ford truck with either a flat head, 289, or 302 but just could not located one at a decent price. There are some crazy prices out there. My 36 has the standard 350 small block (double hump heads) with a 350 turbo tranny. FG fenders and running boards. It looks and drives nice and tracks straight down the road. The gas tank and battery is in a box in the bed. I'm going to put a new tank back where it belongs under the bed. I like a clean looking bed. It hasn't been maintained very well so it needs a thural cleaning from top to bottom. For what I paid it beats anything Ive looked at in that price range in the last 6 months.

Well boys.....you will not believe this. The 1936 pickup that I was going to pickup this coming weekend was in Franklin IN and I called the U-Haul in Martinsville and rented a car trailer. We were going to get the trailer and just 25 min up the road was were the 36 was. I get a text from the seller this morning telling me he has decided not to sell his pickup. He said he would be loosing to much money on the deal we made. We shook hands on the deal so In my eyes that is a gentlemen's agreement. You know....if you didn't like the deal you should not have agreed on it and shook hands. My wife and I were so ticked off.

Guys I know it's a crappy way for someone to do business but it is what it is. I have been on H.A.M.B., craigslist, e-bay, classics.autotrader.com, classiccars.com, claz.org, cars.oodle.com, oldride.com, etc. You name it I check it almost daily. Most of what I see is either a project that I am not looking for or it's approaching $30.000 or over and I'm not looking for that either. Just hard to find what's in between at a fair price. Most of my inquiries I get no response so I assume they are old ads. Since there is no posting date I have no way to tell. Spring is approaching fast and I was hoping to find something before Spring but it's not looking good. Even though my wife and I or really interested in a 1935, 1936, or 1937 pickup I have broadened my search now from 1934 thru 1940. Pretty much the same results. Once again I'm getting a little burned out on the hunt.

Was way down south of Seattle a couple years ago and finally decided the seller wasn't gonna budge one inch on a really original 46 jailbar half ton he hacd listed on CL. So....In my mania I told him I would give him his asking price and started shelling out the Benjamins (my middle name). About half way through he decided he didn't want to sell it, so I had to quit and leave. Lately he has called me about a cab and some parts and I'm tempted to lure him a hundred miles north and then onto the ferry and another 25 miles, and get ready to load him up and change my mind. What is he thinking?.....

Ok you two. We all know that's just locker room talk. I would never actually do something like that.
