Any of you guys waiting for the 2018?

If you asked this question last week I would have said yes! But supposedly built and the gig was if you waited for a retail build the bugs might be worked out but the time it is built. So, it should be good, maybe. If not, maybe an early trade. My trades in the past have averaged around 12 years so if the truck has problems, maybe a new one would be in order after a year or two. Besides I need to fill up my signature like some of the rest here. Impressive run for many!

I ordered a 17. Im not worried too much about small new truck bugs. NOW…had the complete power train been new or had this also been the first year for the new 10 speed trans, I may be in a different camp. After driving one of these things, there was no way I could have waited another year, lol.

6.2 or 6.7?
I'm planning on going with the 6.7 which will be my first diesel truck

6.7 its bad ***. I had swore never to buy a diesel after driving my brothers Ram 3500 and Nissan HD diesels due to their being slow gutless dead pedal engines. I thought if that's the power on a diesel forget that I'll stick with gas V8's. Then I test drove a 6.7 for my brother not even looking for a truck myself, the power was impressive. Blows away my 2013 F150 and 2014 Ram 1500 V8's, and my brother says WAY more power than his Ram or Nissan diesels.
I can't abide a gutless vehicle. I don't need a supercharged Mustang but come on if I press on the pedal in an emergency situation I expect the thing to get up and get going, also crossing an intersection, pulling onto the freeway, etc. This 2017 F350 4x4 Long Bed as heavy as it is, man it doesn't fool around, from a dead stop or rolling. The brakes are also way better than on my F150 or Ram 1500, and my brother complained a lot about his Ram 3500 brakes, he says the 2017 F250 he purchased is way better.
Tip...if you floor the 6.7 it seems like the computer kicks in to ease the power on, instead if you just give it aggressive throttle, but short of mashing the pedal to the floor man she gets up and goes, it will push you back into the seat and you can feather the pedal for as much power as you want from there, up to full throttle. When I broke the rear tires loose yesterday I had pulled out onto the highway, was going about 30 mph. Normally I just ease up to speed I'm not a lead foot, but I put my foot in the throttle a bit more and started spinning one of the rear tires and had to back off, oh yeah that's just what I want. Traction control never even came on, something else to love about this new super duty.

Yes, I came to that decision a week ago. I originally wanted to wait to 2019 for a variety of reasons. One of which was the new Ram Heavy Duty will come out, and I can compare the two new trucks.
Then my current truck started having major mechanical problems and I was looking at spending 4 or 5 months worth of loan payments on current repairs.
Well, I missed the cutoff to make the 2016 tax season based on order timing. You don't pay until the truck comes in, so you are not buying it until the truck comes in which pushes the big tax benefit (and it's big) off for a year. So, I'll order in September/October 2017 and see if I can get some improvements with a 2018...or a ridiculous deal on a 2017.
Hopefully, Ford puts in some adjustable bed rails/cleats system; adds a larger fuel tank for the short bed (there is plenty of space under the cab with the 34 gallon tank); puts front parking beepers on; and works out some of the kinks.

My 2010 F 150 is just now showing signs of needing maintenance outside of the usual stuff. It's been a great, dependable truck. I travel the country doing storm damage construction contracting (among other endeavors abroad) and down time while away from home would be horrible. I've been lucky to have my f150 always ready to get me where I need to go.
A 6 year old truck showing "signs of needing maintenance outside of usual stuff" is not a great sign to me. What stuff are you talking about?
