Coyote into truck

Coyote engine into a'74 F100 2WD S.B. 390 as of now. Anyone tried this?
Really don't know what problems I may run into.
Could I keep the C6 trany?
Or will it be one heck of a headache? Thanks for the input.

C6: NO.

Headache: Multiple.

Post 3 here has links to an early swap guide. There is more aftermarket support for swaps now, but the Coyote is a picky motor to fiddle with. You will need a transmission and a controller to run both the engine and trans.

I think you could upgrade your 390 into the 400s easily and add A/C, redo the front end and brakes and add an overdrive for less money by the time you are done. Maybe.

Thanks for the input. I kinda guess it would be a headache.
I'm going to look at the Jon Kasse Boss engines and see what kind of modifications I'm looking at there.

I had the chance at doing that same thing this summer, after my 2011 F150 was totaled out after a few trees fell on it.
It really crossed my mind to keep the 2011, yank that Coyote, Transmission, harnesses, and electronic out and put it into my 79 F150 (Ka'Bluey) that currently has a 400 C6, and 4x4.
But I needed something else that I could jump into and turn a key. I also don't currently have garage to do such a project in.
