Finally happened......tick tick tick tick

I noticed in the past few months my truck makes that nice exhaust manifold tick tick tick which goes away in seconds. I've finally had some time to just do some inspecting of my truck and behold. The rear most upper exhaust manifold stud is completely gone on the drive side.

Awesome....... not going to do anything. Just annoying.

Strangely I hear the ticking on the driver side of mine the first couple minutes of cold running. But the missing studs are on the passenger side.Next year you'll lose one more. The year after that one more…

The only saving grace is they replaced the other manifold when I bought it so hopefully just this side will be affected. Start saving up now as this is not something I want to do when it comes time.

Its not that hard let them soak in wd-40wd-40 or what ever penetrate the day before working on it. If you ate lucky and have enough thread you can put a nut tighten it and loosen 99% of the time the stud will come out with it.

Unfortunately from what I can preliminary see the stud seems be completely snapped off near the head.

Bummer, mine is also doing it. I noticed 5 broken studs! I haven't decided if I am going to tackle this job on my own. Nervous about the broken studs and the ability to get them out. Also has there been a consensus on what is the best aftermarket manifold to purchase?

Remove the intake, pull the lifters, replace and then install an aluminum intake. Kill two birds with one stone.
