1962 F350 Restoration
I'm considering doing a restoration project on my 1962 F-350. It runs well and I use it around my place to do some hauling. It was my Dad's baby so it has sentimental value.
To get started I want to research the original paint scheme - both interior and exterior. The VIN is F35CR260223 and I was able to use a decoder to get some info but not the color scheme.
I'd appreciate any suggestions about how to find out the original color scheme for my truck.
Thanks.

F35 = F350 / C = 292 2V / R = San Jose CA Assembly Plant / 260223 = 1962 .. assembled February 1962.

The COLOR code is not within the VIN of any FoMoCo vehicle.
1961/66: COLOR code stamped on the 2nd line of the Warranty Plate between the WB (wheelbase) & the MODEL code.
There's no code on 1961, 1962 and 1963 Warranty Plates that defines the seat color and type of upholstery.
Ford dealers used a Soft Trim catalog that had colored swatches of the seat material. Matched the upholstery in the trucks with what was shown for the specific year.
Standard Cabs used different materials than Custom Cabs. I have one of these catalogs that cover 1957/68 trucks, 1961/67 Econolines.
You could come by and look at it, but CA is a long way from MT
