I'm looking for information or a service manual for a distributor on a 391 V8 in a F-800 Tandem grain truck. The governor has quit working properly so, I unhooked it. I've rebuilt the 4bbl Holley carb. and would like to do the same on the distributor, but not without some kind of service info. Have had no luck finding info at NAPA or Checker, or my local parts store. Am I asking too much or is there not so much inside the dist. that I can't just rebuild it McGyver style?

 

I *think* that a distributor from an FE would fit, but someone else needs to back me up before you go get one. What governer are you talking about? I have rather limited experience with FT engines. Only thing I could think about would be a dual vacuume line advance, my truck has one for the TRS system, now removed.
