You'd think so, but doing a supercrew with the 6.5' box makes one long drink of water. I'm reminded of that every time I drive into a tight parking lot. I also joke that I need to phone ahead to make a U-turn. I should not complain though; I look at some of those superduties that have a crew cab plus an 8' box. That's another 1-1/2' over ours.

There are drawbacks to everything.. I only have the 6.5' because it holds value better but the turn radius is horrible! To make up for it, I just put a cap on it and am adding in a bed and bean bag inside. It'll be like an RV.

As mentioned after this comment, a SCrew with 6.5 bed is a battleship to turn around and park, which is the main reason I chose the Screw 5.5 version.

My 99 F350 Crew Cab 8' was HORRRRRRIBLE to drive in the city and parking lots. I owned that truck from January 1998 to August 2003 and only put 30k miles on it, it was a pain in the **** to drive.

My 2005 F250 Scab 8' bed was better, but not great. From October 2004 to May 2009 I put 170K miles on it. I never really needed an 8' bed.

My 2006 F250 Scab 6.5 bed was great. ATV fit in the bed tailgate up, parking wasn't too big of an issue. It had nearly 140K when I traded it in for the 2016 F150 Screw 5.5. Both are exactly the same length bumper to bumper, but the F150 is way easier to park, way easier to navigate in the city. When I haul items it just means driving with the tailgate down more, no biggie really.

So when I say I "regret" not ordering my truck with the 6.5 bed, the inverse is also true as I likely would say the opposite if I did have the 6.5 and wish I had gotten the 5.5.

Now that I think about it, I should have gotten an SCab 6.5 truck

I have a slight oil problem, it's like pcv valve is clogged and the oil is all over the top side of my valve covers and around air intake ... any answers? Dealership put some dye in the oil after topping it off with a full quart , oh there was only 1500 miles on it at the time of top off

Mine has the 5.5, wished I had stuck to my guns and ordered one with the 6.5. This one had all the other options on my list though and I got 10,000 off the sticker.

I just traded my 2015 F150 with 5.0L and 5.5 box..... I had absolutely zero issues with that truck in any regards. I put 60,000km (37,000miles) on it and only did regular oil changes.....

Loved the truck so much that I got another 2016 F150 Sport with 5.0L and 5.5 box. There is more than enough room in the box for what I need it for. The only down fall to the 5.5 box that I have recently come across is that you are very limited to truck campers, if you ever think you may want one.

I was leasing a stock blue 2015, and kept driving past the dealership everyday due to work..... Curiosity got the better of me when they had a nice black 2016 all done up..... Long story short....they bought my lease out and I purchased the 2016.

The only problem I know of on the 150 with the 5.0 (SCREW, 5.5 bed), my son bought one earlier this this year with 17k now has around 40k. After letting off the throttle while slowing down to a stop and then stepping back into (the light turning form red to green) it would slam hard into 1st gear. It was starting to get incrementally worse, until he took it to the dealer and had them check for TSB's. As a result they reflashed the trans and that took care of the problem.

2015 F150 XLT Scab 5.0L bought Sep, 2015. At 8k miles the throttle body took a dump and put me in limp mode..... Took to dealer for warranty work. Had to order part. Put me in a rental that I had to pay for..... not a great start. Have 32K on truck now. Runs great. Factory tires are pretty much toast at 30k miles. Rotated at every oil change. Not happy at that.

I just got out of a 2011 F150 Scab 6.5 that had the dreaded engine knock and only 38,000 miles on it. I hated hearing the thing knock when i was a drive thru...so i traded it in. Dealer says its normal yet my new 2016 F150 Screw 5.5 bed is whisper quiet and is a beast! absolutely love it!

My 2015 F150 Screw has an issue with the door latches freezing. On cold days the doors will not close. The dealer has replaced all the latches and installed a moisture guard but it did not help. If you can push the lock down it will sometimes latch closed. Ford is at a loss with a perminant repair.

Apologies, both have 5.0. I figured that since this thread was about the 5.0 in the 2015+ F150's it wasnt necessary to state what engine i had...

if you had the dreaded knock, why go with the same engine?
