i know this is beating a dead horse, and i should just spend the $130 to get the adjustable mounts, but i bought all new rubbers and the solid piece heavy duty rear cab mounts. front cab mounts are brand new. front cab mount the frame pieces are not bent. i checked them before the cab went on. My left side is 1/2" lower than the right, i didn't have the rubber piece's in, after i installed both still off 1/2". i loosened all 4 mounts, (front and rear), and shook the cab for 30 seconds... finally got the cab square on the frame. both sides were even. after i tightened everything down, the cab went back to 3/8" off driver side low. i would like to use what i have, maybe shim one side or the other. my question is, do i shim the front cab mount to get the rear of the cab level???

Ps- my frame is dead level.


i am measureing from the floor to the top of this rib..

 

I would be measuring from the top of the frame to the edge of the back window. If the frame is level, then the lower edge of the rear window should be level as well. That "rib" that you show in your photo is filled with bondo at the top edge, not the best place to get an accurate measurement.

 

Do your doors fit good.

 

they fit ok, don't have them bolted all the way down yet. doors are a problem for me. very difficult

I'd use the lower window sill (back window)... is the bed on the truck ??
Put a level on the window sill and on the frame and find the difference... shim 1/2 of that on the low side

another point for adjustment, you could slot the bolt holes holding the rear cab mount bracket and adjust there... but I think if you get it within 1/8", I'd call that done. No one but an OCD person like me would notice it...and if they do and question it... tell them their hips are out of alignment THEY are off 1/8"

have you measured from the tips of the front cab mount arms to the floor (assuming your floor is flat and smooth)...

you can always shim the bed to match the cab...

heck... a low tire would show more than 1/8"

save all that energy for something hard... there will be more later

Once you have your truck roadworthy and have gotten a few hundred miles on it, it will have settled and then your measurements might be more realistic. Right now an 1/8 inch is a nit.

 

Yup, 1/8 of an inch is not to worry about. After a bit of shaking and rattling the cab down the road just go back under and check the fasteners and mounts and tighten up where necessary. There will be other adjustments of fenders and such too.
