SuperDuty vs F150

Tim and I chipped in on your thread in the Super Duty forum.
One question I haven't seen answered was how frequently will you be towing or hauling firewood? The rear axles are rated for significantly more than what your GVWR will allow, so occationally overloading the rear axle isn't going to hurt anything as long as your tires are properly inflated.

I'd like the F250 if it weren't for the engine options. The diesel is a really nice engine for someone that tows heavy alot. The 6.2l is not efficient. Ford has dropped the ball in terms of bigger cubic inch gas engines. I've had a few and even the short beds are big. Not the easiest thing to maneuver in tight spaces. I need an F150 with an F250 suspension.

IMHO...and based on the info that you provided...
Go with a 2012 thru 2016 MY F250 SuperDuty. Depending on the amount of miles that you plan on putting, but the 6.2L will do all you ask.
Of course the '17 SuperDuty is an awesome truck, but they have grown both length and height. IMHO...those are both negatives for a huge truck to begin with.
Good luck with your pick!!

It was the F250LD from 1997-1999, which became the F150 7700 lb package in 2000. Became the 8,200 lb package in 2004 with the redesign, and carried through to 2014 with the 7-lug wheels. 2015's redesign got rid of the 7-lug wheels, and it's a 7,700 lb GVWR package again. Very much an option for the OP, and it can have 2,500 lbs of payload.
These trucks never had F250 axles though. Some years got the 10.25" rear axle, but it was a semi-floating design that never saw use in the Super Duty. The front suspension was exactly the same as every other F150, but with heavier springs and the 8.8" front differential.
