Coolant Filter

I'm looking into getting one from Dieselsite..... I can't see why they wouldn't be anything but helpful. Anybody have experience with them?

We just did a full coolant flush. Was also thinking of using the rmi 25.

Thoughts?

I have a dieselsite filter, its great. I'll look for a picture that I have showing what comes out after 4K miles, even after a flush.

Riffraff is about to come out with an OBS coolant filter system. I am waiting on that.

Hey Glenn, do you use the Baldwin filters or did you switch to a different kind?

I didn't know they had one coming for the OBS, that is great. I just replaced my leaking Sinister one for my Excursion and was impressed that they made a whole new mount that replaces the driver side radiator mount. So much cleaner than the clamp over style several use now. I will be watching for their OBS one.

For coolant filters I get the Donaldson from Riffraff Diesel, or XDP. Both have good pricing.

Ill be watching for the OBS one myself. I didn't do it on the last truck, but this one will get a setup with the lower miles and recent flush.

What do you all expect to be different about the OBS one from RR vs the ones that are already out? All I can think of is placement and bracket mount.

I have no clue... I posted the 99+ version in the OT thread asking that same question and clay popped on and said they were coming out with an OBS version shortly.

Not sure. I can tell you the difference from my other one way much nicer american made hose and what look like hydraulically crimped end rather than chinese hand pressed brass. Hopefully it is a nice mount as well.

This is what my filter looked like using it only 4K miles after a full flush.

This is what I'm putting on now after running the pre-charged coolant for 15K.

That filter came off the mare at about 178K. I've had my coolant filter on the OX now for 15K like I said and I'm going to cut it open and see what it looks like. The OX now has 115K on it. Maybe I'll do it soon before this thread dies.
