Rear drawer set up build/need some advice

Started a rear drawer set up for the ex for camping and sleeping. Everything is built out of 3/4 Baltic birch. Goes from the rear doors to the back of the second row seats and behind the seats has a compartment for 3 back up batterys which later will be hooked up to solar and the small holes on the bottom of both sides will get air and electric down the road. So i can air tires back up and so i can run 120v items. Here is what everything looks like so far Name: photo449.jpg

Now here is where i am stuck. I need some kind of drawer sliders that are around 48in long. I found this site that has some but i dont know how they will last http://truck-hardware.orrorr.com/vie...tension-slide?
Any suggestions are welcome. Trying to stay around 120 a pair since i need 2 pairs.

The slides you linked to are meant to attach to a metal drawer via a slot and tab system like in a tool box and are not the lockout type which means unless your vehicle is perfectly level the draw will either be trying to close or open making it a royal PITA to use. I would use a lock out style slide and one that screws or bolts to your cabinet.

Orr & Orr has lockouts and they appear to be made by Ryadon.

Accuride supplies the slides to snap on, military and industry but they are $$$$

The 9308 series would be cool if you can find a deal on some used ones

Thanks ya those might be the ones i might go with. I was thinking the regular ones with popers that come up to lock it in place when all the way out. I have the accu ones that lock and it was a pain to unlock. Not sure what model they were but dam they were a pain lol those ones u posted look alot easier so i might go with those if i cant come up with something less. Still have to buy a inverter and compressor so money is flowing fast haha

I am planning on doing something similar with drop down boxes with a lid right behind the second row seats and where it steps up will be where the slide out starts. Subscribed!

Thats what i did. Has a lid now that houses the batterys now and has worked well for a camping trip where i slept in the back on a futon mattress. I was going to do pull up boxes for tools but decided to do batteries due to a very cold winter when i slept in it and never again. I can now run a small heater all night no problem lol

It's the first one listed of the two threads in the tech folder. Rob, as in short for Robert, aka "robert l ross"

KV 8900 Series Full Extension Precision Ball Bearing Slides 40" 500# Class (Set)
Amazon, $179.95 for a set

...you can probably get a set that has a lower weight rating if you aren't carrying the type of gear I do (sledge, axe, demo bar, pry bar, bolt cutters, hand tool sets, chains, etc. etc.).

Another thought before you get too far down the road...have you thought about linear bearings? Like the stuff 80/20 makes?

https://8020.net/catalog/category/vi.../837/?cat=1345

You'd mount sections of extruded aluminum either on the sides of the drawers or even the bottoms...connect them using the linear slide bearings.
