Transmission swap

Curious if anyone has tried the 6r140 swap into a V10 with 4r100?

I'd be amazed if someone could make this work.

It would probably be easier to put your old body on a 2017 stripped chassis to get the 6 speed. You'd also get a 3V V10 out of that deal.

Or just buy a brand new 6.2 for what this would cost?

The reason I asked is cause they have them behind the v10 in the f550.

Very true. But you need the entire electronics package in the newer truck to make the trans operate. So not only do you have to swap the trans, but you'll need to swap the engine, too. And all the computers. And all the wiring. And probably the entire dash. And that will probably also require swapping a few other things I'm not thinking of. All in all it would be cheaper to drive your truck off a cliff and buy a brand new 2017.

X2. I about smacked a kid the other day when we were talking mustangs. He said he wanted to restore his "old" Mustang and when I asked him what year model he said an 88. I have an 83 and a 91 that I still consider reasonably new, but I remember getting a 67 model when I was 16 and thinking it was ancient(it was 29 years old). His 88 is just about 29 years old now too. Made me feel old lol.
