Turbo pressure only 11 psi

Hi and thanks for reading
I have a 2000 EX with a 7.3 all stock except for a AFE air filter. I am getting a 11 psi max from map sample line. I did a pressure test at 20 psi and I did find some leaks. One was on the air heater and one was on the temp sensor on the H pipe.
I checked the inter cooler boots. I even found one on the little line next to the h pipe tenp sensor. Fixed all leaks but I did not improve the pressure that much at all. The Exhaust pressure sensor tube looks new and it is reading using AE.
Any help what to do what next to get the boost up would be a great help
Or if 11 is the best for a stock please let me know that too.
Thank you

When you find out, let me know. Been chasing that extra 6lbs for 5yrs now.
. Sick, 16-18lbs, redline disconnected 21-22lbs...i hit 15lbs with redline plugged, but after 11lbs, I can count up with the torque pro increasing.. It's that show of rising boost

Some places I found leaks when doing a pressure test on my Truck other than the usual, was at both ends of the MAP sensor line. I found that the stock spring clamps do not hold pressure after 10 or so psi. I put worm clamps here, and no more leaks. Also check the fittings at the Y pipe, as well as the boots on the red and green vacuum lines. These boots deteriorate with time and will also leak. You can buy a kit of rubber boots at Oriellys and replace them all, even at the Turbo. Hope this helps..

I'm not on a stock build, so my boost numbers are much higher than stock, but to answer your question, I'm hitting 45 psi with my current setup.

17-18 PSI boost is normal at sea level, maybe just a little lower at higher elevations. While barometric pressure is lower at higher altitudes - that means a lower MAP pressure all around, but boost is not effected greatly.

You mentioned reading EBP, but not the values you saw at max boost. The two values you want to read are MAP and EBP - those two are a direct comparison of air in and out without any BARO conversion.

How clean is your air filter? Did you inspect the intake plenums for leaks? What is the ratio of EBP to boost? Did you log your data so you can share the log here? Are you actually holding the throttle to the floor when you get your max boost reading? Don't laugh or scoff at the question - you'd be amazed how many people are shy with the throttle. Have you heard of the red line mod?

While sitting in park or driving down the road? You have to be under load to get the max boost readings. My wife's bone stock truck will max at 18 psi (according to the mechanical boost gauge). Trucks with modified calibrations can have much higher readings...

EBP looks about right, MAP looks dismal. Key On, Engine Off... what does your MAP, EBP, and BARO say?

If they read the same , then you need to look for intake leaks, the possibility of a toasted turbo, a plugged intake filter, or a wastegate issue.

I second this. Rich suggested this on my truck and I was shocked after doing the pressure test. My intake plenums where blowing more bubbles then my son does in his chocolate milk. Can build the pressure tester for about $20 or less depending on how much extra stuff you have laying around the garage.
