Proper DPF disposal

Hey guys I've been out of my 6.7 for about a year. It was deleted. I half heartedly tried selling the dpf on Craigslist with no luck. So now it's just taking up room and I want to get rid of it. Most of my junk goes to the land fill. But I don't want to do that with an exhaust if there is certain things inside it that shouldn't go to a land fill. What is the right thing to do?

Thanks for the help....man i miss that motor!

I highly recomend keeping it. When it comes time to sell or trade it in you will wish you had it. There is also a chance the Federal government cracking down on the tampering of the emissions system. I would not be suprised if the fed DEQ started road side check points and made you put all the stuff back. Buying new would not be cheap.

wonders what shipping would be on one of those units. How much were you asking for it?

I think I had it on Craigs list for 800. I never looked up shipping. I pulled it from my truck with 44k on it. All connectors are in great shape I took my time doing it just as many said, incase I needed to reinstall. Look up shipping and figure out a price. I'm open to anything.

Am I the only one who sees the irony here....

Op deleted his truck, illegally, sold it to someone else, illegally, so it is still out there polluting the air and blowing soot in babies lungs. And he is concerned about bad things going in the landfill???

Suggest you try to find the new owner and offer him the exhaust system. Might save yourself from a lawsuit when said new owner is cited by the feds.

bpounds, so you have never owned a diesel before the latest epa emissions standard? You were and are one of those people. You probably shouldn't even have a vehicle because you are "choking babies lungs". Have you ever look at the rail industry usage of diesel? Maybe go after them before you go after a guy taking off a DPF from a truck that uses maybe 2000 gallons a year. Maybe we should TAX him because he did that and everything would be alright. Sounds like a politician and a hypocrite.

Well, you asked and I answered, regarding the right thing to do. And are you really too stupid to see the irony?

Thing about internet forums is, you don't get to decide who replies. And it was not a hijack, it was an answer to your question. Regarding the babies lungs comment, for the slower among us, I need to remember to add a long line of these Feel better now?

I proudly own a pre-filter diesel, which does not smoke BTW, and which is equipped as required by law. And which passes state emissions testing every 2 years. I don't really care what you do with yours. I don't care what gets dumped in landfills either. I will be LMFAO when diesel testing comes to your area, and *******es scramble to find the parts to restore their trucks. Or scramble to sell them out of state. Seen that exact thing happen here.

Your absolutely right. I can't dictate who reply's to a thread I post. It's an open forum. It's your prerogative and I respect that.

Have a great weekend.
